International Materials Reviews publishes peer-reviewed critical assessments of the literature on all aspects of materials science and engineering. Its aim is to provide timely, authoritative introductions to current thinking, developments and research in carefully selected topics. Leading edge reviews provide a concise overview of rapidly developing areas of the discipline, while maintaining the journal's high standard of rigour and critical assessment. Most reviews are invited by the Editors but proposals for reviews are welcomed. Institutional subscribers now have access to the entire retrodigitised back-archive of IMR, extending to the initial publication in 1956. From 2013 International Materials Reviews will increase in frequency from 6 to 8 issues per year.
